2020 Runoffs Powered by Partner Support

2020 Runoffs Powered by Partner Support

The SCCA National Championship Runoffs remains one of the most unique events on the annual motorsports calendar, featuring 26 classes, each with their own race on either Friday, Saturday or Sunday, and three days of qualifying in the buildup. This year’s version returns to Elkhart Lake’s Road America, October 6 – 11.

Each of the races are streamed live for those at home, but each day at the track features a unique aspect thanks to valuable SCCA Partners.

Sunoco 260 Tuesday

The Sunoco 260 GT race fuels are a 100 octane, street-legal unleaded fuel designed for high performance cars, and Sunoco 260 Tuesday will certainly be high octane.

The opening day of qualifying waves the green flag on the week-long event, where the nearly 600 entries and 600 volunteers take to the course for the first timed sessions.

Those volunteers will have lunch provided to them at the Sunoco 260 Tuesday lunch break during Sunoco 260 qualifying.

Hawk Brake-Through Performer Wednesday

Wednesday is often the day that the qualifying order begins to change at the Runoffs, and Hawk Performance will be a part of identifying those “Brake-Through” performances.

Hawk Performance will also provide lunches to the volunteers during Wednesday’s “LunchBrake” at Road America.

Tire Rack Pole Day

Beyond race days, the Tire Rack Pole Day is one of the most exciting days of Runoffs competition. Each of the 26 classes are on track on a single day for the final time, and it’s the last chance for a driver to improve their grid position before the race.

Tire Rack provides not only the worker lunch during the day, but a variety of prizes and swag for the Tire Rack Pole Award winners.

Hagerty Race Days

Hagerty Race Days feature 26 sprint races, each one culminating in a winner-takes-all National Champion!

All races are 13 laps or 40 minutes, whichever comes first. Friday and Saturday each feature nine different races, with eight more to cap the weekend on Sunday.

And, of course, those races can’t happen without a core group of volunteer workers still on site. Friday’s lunch is presented by Ford Performance, Saturday by Hagerty, and Sunday by SCCA Unite.

Sunoco 260 Tuesday and Hawk Brake-Through Performer Wednesday will be featured with streaming audio coverage, static cameras and live timing at SCCA.com/live. All 26 Runoffs races, as well as Tire Rack Pole Day, will be broadcasted live on SCCA.com throughout the weekend. More information on the event can be found at SCCA.com/Runoffs.
