NEOHIO wants YOU!
Join SCCA online for a Solo Safety Steward Training Webinar!
Wait, what is this?
Doug Gill will be presenting to folks interested in becoming a Solo Safety Steward online. Get trained in your pajamas! You’ll need to be at least 18 years old and an SCCA member. Click the “tickets” or “register” button to get a link to register for the class ahead of time.
Alright, but what’s in it for me?
We cannot run SCCA events without at least one SSS on site, and if there’s only one then that person can’t actually drive. That’s no fun, so the practical requirement is to have at least two fully licensed SSS’s at any SCCA Solo event. Our current pool of Stewards is low, and life happens. By attending this class and becoming a Steward, you help to ensure that NEOHIO continues having events. You also get to be more involved in your region.
Fine, I’ll do it.
Great! Thank you!
There better be coffee.
Well, that’s up to you now, isn’t it?
Ok, but seriously, what’s up with that picture? That looks awful!
Yeah. That’s from an incident involving an inexperienced driver in a car he wasn’t familiar with coming in too hot on a course with a less-than-ideal finish in Portland, OR, April 22, 2007. The white Celica belonged to the SSS on site, and took the initial impact. The Celica spun around and hit the Subaru, which then hit the Audi. No one was injured. The guy in the pink shirt was not the driver. The event did go on. Good times.
