DESCRIPTION:The Neohio Region of SCCA is excited to welcome you to the thrilling world of motorsports. \nWe will be showcasing all of our programs and how to get involved at an engaging\, FREE motorsports expo. Whether you are interested in driving or learning about the behind-the-scenes of racing\, this event is for you! Join us at Nelson Ledges Road Course in Garrettsville\, OH on April 19! \nIt will include presentations from program representatives covering Solo\, Street Survival\, RallyCross\, Road Rally\, Time Trials and Road Racing.  We are inviting as many of our members as we can get to bring their competition cars out that day to help facilitate meaningful conversations.  There will be presentations by representatives from all of our volunteer specialties as well so people can learn about opportunities to get involved in aspects of the sport such as Flagging & Communications\, Emergency Services\, Timing & Scoring\, Tech\, Registration\, Pit & Grid and so on.  We will also have a variety of sponsors there from various companies that support motorsports enthusiasts. \nThe day will include low-speed ride alongs for those who want to get an in-car perspective of what it’s like to be on a race track and a cool car show. \nThis exciting day will include: presentations\, ride-alongs\, information stations\, a car show and door prizes! \nDONUTS AND COFFEE ARE PROVIDED AND FREE! DESCRIPTION:Do you worry about your teenage driver or know someone who does?\nThe Tire Rack Street Survival® Program is meant for you!\nMotor vehicle accidents are the number one cause of death for teenagers in the US. In fact\, more teens die as a result of motor vehicle crashes than from drugs\, guns and violent crime combined.\nThe Tire Rack Street Survival® program is a teen safe driving program designed to go beyond driver’s education and give our young drivers the hands-on experience and tools to become safer\, smarter drivers. The program provides:\n• Trained\, qualified in-car driving instructors and classroom educational experience for each student.\n• Hands-on educational driving experience in real-world situations teaching teens car safety and control in their own vehicles\n• Challenging driving situations\, including skid control and emergency lane change on closed courses allowing students to experience abnormal vehicle behavior in a safe and supervised environment\n• A greater sense of awareness regarding sharing the road with other vehicles and focusing on controlling the student’s own vehicle\nNeohio SCCA in cooperation with Drive Team is bringing this program to Northeast Ohio at the Drive Team Facility\, 4445 State Road\, Peninsula\, Ohio on Sunday\, April 6\, 2025. The program runs from 8 AM to 4 PM. The registration fee is $125 and includes continental breakfast and lunch.
