While the relationship may have only been formalized last October, the two organizations have been integral throughout the history of sports car racing in this country. Many drivers can be found at both the “professional” and “amateur” racing events, but many more behind-the-scenes workers – from flagging and communication to safety to race officials – cross over between the two platforms.
