Coverage of the Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA Super Tour is about to take a giant leap. In past seasons, Hoosier Super Tour race weekends have featured a live audio stream with a professional broadcasting team along with static cameras placed trackside. This live coverage allowed SCCA members and fans to follow along during the 10-race, season-long Hoosier Super Tour battles that spanned the country from Florida to California, Oregon, New York, and many states in between. But beginning with the first round of the 2023 Hoosier Super Tour at Sebring International Raceway on Jan. 13-15, the Sports Car Club of America will elevate the presence of its pinnacle racing series with a dynamic, multi-camera setup and live commentary that will put viewers amidst the action through their computer, phone, or tablet.
Working in conjunction with DriversEye Live LLC – a company with nearly six years of experience streaming live race coverage – all 10 weekends of the 2023 Hoosier Super Tour will boast a setup of up to 12 cameras sporting a leaderboard overlay, produced into a single stream and blended with a team of professional, on-site announcers calling the action. The race coverage will then stream live via SCCA’s YouTube and Facebook pages. When available, races will also include live in-car camera views. After each race weekend, races will be available for on-demand viewing.
“Streaming video options have advanced significantly in the last five years, and this is something that SCCA has wanted to do for some time,” said Eric Prill, SCCA VP of Road Racing. “While we’d love to have a broadcast-level production effort like at the Runoffs for all 10 of our Hoosier Super Tours, it’s simply not realistic. The platform that DriversEye Live has developed over the last several years offers a massive improvement over our previous video offering, blending the SCCA experience in sight and sound to our participants and audience both at, and away from, the track. We couldn’t be more thrilled about what this partnership brings to the membership.”
For DriversEye Live, streaming the Hoosier Super Tour is the culmination of years of hard work and dedication, both on a professional and personal level.
