SCCA in the Media: Fresno Fairgrounds

SCCA in the Media: Fresno Fairgrounds

Regional autocrosses are awesome for so many reasons. They are wonderful weekend events with low entry barriers, and can be conducted in open spaces nearer population centers.

Popping down to the local parking lot on a Saturday or Sunday to play with cars requires a minimal time commitment. It is also easier to convince the local news to stop by a local parking lot to watch local people having some legal #funwithcars.

These stories are certainly neat, and it’s cool to see our Club covered by media outlets. But these posts at SCCA.com are meant to serve another purpose. These are examples of how Regions around the country work with local media to spread the word of Region activities, which can help grow a Region and the Club as a whole.

With that in mind, check out the clip below from KSEE-TV in Fresno. Yes, we know they called autocross a “time trials” activity rather than a “timed competition.” But we all know the SCCA lifestyle comes with confusing terms for the uninitiated. Still, much thanks to KSEE-TV for heading out last month to explore a local experience put on by SCCA’s Fresno Chapter of the San Francisco Region.
