A (Great) Day of Motorsports
The forecast called for rain all day, but that didn’t deter very many people. On Saturday, April 19th, over 250 people showed up at Nelson Ledges to participate in the Day of Motorsports event.
Based on Registration numbers, it appears that about 80% of participants were new to SCCA. They were treated to four presentations introducing them to all of the ways they can have #funwithcars through our club. Many took advantage of the opportunity to ride along for a couple of “pace laps” with an experienced competition driver. There were cars from all five SCCA competition programs on display with the owners happy to answer questions. We had a large tent in the middle of the action where people could learn all about our Trackside Volunteer programs. Cars & Coffee Cleveland hosted a car show which brought a wide variety of interesting vehicles out. We also signed up three new members at the event!
